(ANS - Rome) - The 31st World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland (26 to 31 July 2016) is getting closer. The theme is: "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy" (Mt 5,7). Its pastoral spirit and youthful joy make it a perfect fit with the World Day of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) which will be celebrated on July 27.
(ANS - Sydney) - The purpose of global youth events such as World Youth Day (WYD) is not to offer individual spiritual experience but to raise questions for young people, lead them to search, and then grow through appropriate programmes. In Australia, the Salesian Family has been able to draw fruit from these experiences and has begun a programme with some young people, who have created the group "Australian Salesian Youth Mentors" (ASYM) which has recently become "Australian Salesian Youth Community "(ASYC).
(ANS – Krakow) – Few weeks before the beginning of the World Youth Day (WYD) 2016 in Krakow, we checked the feelings of the Salesian Provincial of Krakow, Fr Dariusz Bartocha.
(ANS - Krakow) – On Wednesday, 22 June, 180 participants in the motorcyclists’ pilgrimage "Shining Light of Mercy" met Pope Francis at the general audience in St. Peter's Square. The pilgrimage is one of the preparatory events for the World Youth Day (WYD) 2016 in Krakow, and was organized by the Salesian Missionary Volunteer Group "Młodzi Światu" in Krakow, together with the Organizing Committee of World Youth Day. The idea came from a Salesian, Fr Adam Parszywka, Director of "Młodzi Światu" and the Department of Communications of the World Youth Day. He has just recently been appointed as the next Provincial of Krakow.
