Panama City, Panama - December 2019 - On December 11, the President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, presided over the "Promoción Aleph 2019" diploma awards ceremony of the Don Bosco Technical Institute (ITDB). The administrative vice minister for education, José Pío Castillero, and the Provincial of the Salesians of Central America, Fr Angel Prado were also present. In his speech, President Cortizo congratulated the ITDB for "the technical, moral and spiritual formation it provides to its students, which makes this institute the best technical school in the country. Don Bosco has been and continues to be a banner of the formation of Panama." The President, to everyone's surprise, also granted 5 scholarships to students with excellent academic results and medals of merit to students with the highest academic performance. A pupil was also awarded the "Guillermo Andreve" medal, a special distinction granted by the Ministry of Education.
