On 31st August, a group of Experts from Italy, Malta and Poland; bringing their different expertise on advocacy (from DBN, VIS, SYM and Past Pupils) to reflect on new strategies and possible policy papers to foster participation in Civil Society and Institutions.
On 4th September, Don Bosco International, was asked by Intergroup on Youth of the European Parliament, to intervene on a panel about the proposal of the new Erasmus Programme in the field of Technical and Vocational Training. The event, hosted by MEP Emilian Pavel, was very successful, and provided us with more opportunities to bring the Salesian perspective to the new policies on Education.
On 5th September, there was another opportunity to influence another EU policy, the European Solidarity Corps, in which MEP Micaela Sojdrova and Silvia Costa, gave voice to youth and volunteering organisations, in order to get some input regarding how to provide a quality experience of solidarity to young people in Europe from 2021. Many suggestions, came out on the two hour session, Don Bosco’s input was focused on ensuring that the opportunities also reached young people with fewer opportunities and promoting active and honest citizenship.
