On Monday 30, the day of arrival, the Rector Major will also receive greetings from the Salesians and from hundreds of children and young people from various Salesian schools.
As in Fr Á.F. Artime's every visit to the many Salesian centers across the globe, the focus is on young people, with the young being the real protagonists. One of the main events of the visit will be, in fact, the meeting with the young people on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 1, at the "Mons. Lasagna" Institute. For two hours, students will have the opportunity to speak with the Successor of Don Bosco, ask him their questions, express their dreams and concerns.
The start is scheduled for 17:00 and admission is free for all young people wishing to participate. The meeting will culminate with the Eucharistic celebration, presided by the Rector Major, at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Asunción. The day concludes with a visit and a greeting to the Apostolic Nuncio of Paraguay.
On Wednesday, 2 May, the meeting with the Provincial Council will take place. In the afternoon, he will go to the Don Bosco Institute in Villarrica and the Carlos Pfannl Institute. On May 3 and 4, the Rector Major shall visit the Chaco, at Ñu Apu'a and at Carmelo Peralta, where he shall meet school children and youths, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, pastoral workers and several indigenous communities – whom he shall also meet in Puerto Casado, on May 5. Finally, scheduled for Sunday, 6 May, is the meeting with the Salesian Family, in Fernando de la Mora.
Fr Á.F. Artime shall tread Paraguayan soil for the third time since he was appointed Rector Major four years ago. However, this will be his first Animation Visit to the Salesian Province. His journey in the Province will be marked by innumerable meetings, but the most desired meeting for the Successor of Don Bosco will be the one with his Salesians, on the last day of his visit, on May 8th.
