Fr Á.F. Artime reached the Salesian center - which houses the secondary school and the student boarding house - accompanied also by his Secretary, Fr Horacio López, and by the Provincial of the "Saint Charles Lwanga" Vice Province of AGL, Fr Camiel Swertvagher.
Impatient to meet him, the Salesians, some Past Pupils of Don Bosco and the Salesians Cooperators of Rukago and Ngozi advanced up to 35 km before the community and greeted the X Successor of Don Bosco with great fraternity.
When Fr Á.F. Artime arrived proper at the center proper, despite the rain and the darkness of the evening already fallen on the city, he found many young students, teachers, administrative staff and local people all waiting to greet and welcome him. Two students gave him flowers, and the Rector Major passed between two rows of the crowd greeting people, exchanging smiles and making himself available for photographs. Then, inside the school, near the sports fields, he was able to listen to music by some young people of the institute performing with the famous Burundian drum, a peculiar element of national culture, declared Universal Heritage of Humanity.
The Rector Major spends the whole day today, March 13, at the center of Ngozi, and as a first appointment he meets the Salesians from all over Burundi.
