RMG - Nominated new Provincial of Croatia: Fr Tihomir Šutalo

(ANS - Rome) - The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consent of the General Council, has appointed Fr Tihomir Šutalo as new Provincial of the "Saint John Bosco" Province of Croatia (CRO) for the six-year 2018-2024 term.

Fr Šutalo was born on 3 January 1967 in Stolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He completed his novitiate in Rijeka, Croatia, between 1983 and 1984 and made his perpetual vows on 15 August 1991 in Zagreb. He was ordained a priest, in Zagreb, on 25 June 1995.

From 2006 to 2013, he served the community of Žepce, in Bosnia-Herzegovina – which belongs to the Province of Ravenna - as its Treasurer, Dean and Director.

Between 2013 and 2014, he was Director of the oratory at the Salesian house in Jarun, Zagreb; he is currently Economer of the Provincial house.

He has held numerous offices at the Provincial level: Delegate for Formation (2003-2006), Social Communication (2006-2007), Salesian Family (2007-2009), Salesian Cooperators (2009-2011) and, finally, Provincial Economer since 2015.

Fr Šutalo succeeds Fr Pejo Orkic as Provincial and will take office in May 2018.
