East Timor - August 2017 – Five Salesian priests were ordained, the blessing taking place on the occasion of the Solemnity of the Assumption in the Salesian Vice Province of Indonesia-Timor, specifically in Timor-East. Venancio Fátima Freitas, Julio da Silva Mota, Matias Mendonça Pinto, Jacinto Tadeu Gusmão and Isaia Bonifacio were ordained at the Sanctuary of Maria Auxiliadora of Fatumaca, Baucau, with the  imposing of hands by Bishop Basilio do Nascimento, Bishop of the Diocese of Baucau. Thousands of lay faithful, including former East Timor president, His Excellency Taur Matan Ruak, celebrated the event.
