The theme chosen by the Director, Dr. Darwin Petit, and the Central Council for the Assembly, shall be "LIKE LIVING STONES (1 Pt. 2:5) ... for growing up in communion."
On this theme, every CDB has been called upon to explore aspects of the "profound life of communion" [Cost. 25] in their specific vocation and in the "live sense of belonging to the Institute" [Cost. 25]; and the importance of engaging in the path of systematic formation, both initial and permanent, "to assimilate and fully live the identity and spirituality of the Institute" [Cf. 27].
The convened brothers, acting as representatives of the entire Institute, besides reflecting on the life of communion and on the sense of belonging to the Institute, shall also be called upon to approve some changes to the Constitutions and Regulations, as well as attending to the election of the General Director and of the Central Council that will lead the Institute for the next four years with functions of "animation and government."
To this regard, as stated in the letter of invitation and convocation of the Assembly, each CDB has been invited to identify instruments and methods that can, indeed, make of the ideal a "profound life of communion" and of the "live sense of belonging to the Institute" envisaged in the Constitutions, a real communion within history, in order to walk together, each at one's own pace, with renewed enthusiasm, within the same path: that of consecrated secularity.
Entrusting this period of preparation for the Assembly to the Virgin Mary, "an icon of secular consecrated life" [Cost. 21], Volunteers With Don Bosco ask all the Salesian Family Groups to accompany them with prayer so that, through Don Bosco's intercession, they may obtain copious fruits of the Spirit as a gift from the Lord.
