India - A project to promote dignity
Chennai, India - July 2017 - Chennai's SIGA (Salesian Institute of Graphic Arts) currently has 400 students attending the various courses being offered, of which 180 are hosted in the hostel, Bosco Illam, most of whom are very poor. The property offers not only food and lodging, but also basic clothes and goods. Children work daily with printing presses and plotters, using acrylic colors and solvents that dirty their clothes and make laundering their clothes every day necessary in a rudimentary fashion. The Missioni Don Bosco of Turin has launched a project to create a structure for drying and ironing of student garments.
