26 September 2024

(ANS – Amsterdam) – On the occasion of the prestigious "Google Leader Series Summit" 2024, held in Amsterdam from 24 to 25 September, three representatives of the Salesian St Mark Province of Italy-Northeast (INE) presented the innovative "Gemini@Salesiani" Project. Fr Alberto Poles, Provincial Economer, Alberto Grillai, Delegate for Vocational Training, and Fr Lorenzo Teston, Delegate for Schools, illustrated the details of this initiative that will bring about a significant transformation in the world of Salesian education.

The "Gemini@Salesiani" project focuses on an advanced training and accompaniment path for teachers in Salesian schools, aimed at promoting the integration of "Google Gemini" Artificial Intelligence (AI) in educational design. To support this innovative path, the INE Province has invested in the purchase of 800 "Google Gemini AI for Education" licenses, thus guaranteeing all teachers involved access to this cutting-edge technology.

This initiative represents a crucial step towards the future of education, allowing teachers to personalise the learning process to better respond to the individual needs of students. During the summit, the representatives of the Province had the opportunity to discuss with other international educational leaders the potential of AI in improving the effectiveness of teaching and the ethical implications related to the use of technology in schools.

"Thanks to the purchase of Google Gemini licenses, we are offering our teachers concrete tools to innovate teaching and prepare them for future challenges" said Fr Lorenzo Teston.

The "Gemini@Salesiani" project has been welcomed with great interest and represents one of the most cutting-edge initiatives in the European educational landscape, confirming how the Salesian INE Province is paving the way for educational innovation.
