25 September 2024

Spain – September 2024 - The Social Communication Delegation of the Salesians of Spain, as part of the programme drawn up for the 2024-2025 academic year, held an online meeting on 24 September for the beginning of the year with the local communication delegates from different houses of the Salesian Saint James the Greater (SSM) and Mary Help of Christians (SMX) Provinces in Spain, and the communication representatives of the Salesian places. Under the pastoral motto "We are the future", the communication teams, coordinated by provincial delegates Fr Javier Valiente and Carlos Martín, thanked them for their work during the past year. New local incorporations were welcomed and some strategic ideas were shared to continue making progress in networking. The first session of the work focused on the presentation of the Communication Plan, whose general objectives highlight youth involvement, evangelisation, internal and external communication, formation, sustainability and digitisation. Fr Valiente stressed the importance of working together. "The more united we are in our messages and contents, the more effective we are, because we are recognised as Salesians," he explained. The second session presented the path taken by the National Communication Delegation in organising its tasks and functions. The team that deals with each task was presented. In addition, the various formation events planned for this year were presented, as well as materials of the "We are the future" campaign. The participants had the opportunity to share their needs and doubts and to learn about the options for the animation visits.
