By way of introduction the Rector Major wished to first of all thank all the Councillors for the dedication and unity manifested in accompanying the action of animation and governance of the Congregation; and later extended his gratitude also to all the other Salesians and lay people in the various Sectors who with their work have supported the entire General Council and its work.
Subsequently, Cardinal Á.F. Artime presented some significant data of the work carried out in this work session, coordinated, as usual, by the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Stefano Martoglio.

Among other significant moments, the summer session included the traditional accompaniment reserved by the Rector Major and his Councillors for newly appointed IProvincials who participated in the course reserved for them (9-21 June); the celebration of the Feast of Appreciation for the Rector Major, on 24 June, the Feast of S. John the Baptist, the namesake feast of Don Bosco and, by tradition, also an occasion to pay tribute to his successors for the service rendered; and, as a moment of synthesis and spiritual and collective relaunching for the members of the General Council the retreat days at the San Biagio community in Subiaco (19-22 July).
The Rector Major's "goodnight" was then followed by a fraternal agape shared with the entire Salesian community.
