Poland – Assembly of Salesian Schools in the Province of Wrocław
Poznań, Poland – June 2024 - The Congress of Salesian Schools in the Province of Wrocław (PLO) was held in Poznań on 13 and 14 June under the title "STA ALLEGRO" (Be cheerful). The event brought together students from all the cities where there are Salesian schools: Lubin, Tarnowskie Góry, Leszno, Wrocław and Poznań. The motto was "Like us", in reference to the five blessed martyrs of Poznań, whom the church commemorates on 12 June. The programme of the congress was rich and diverse. High school students had the opportunity to visit an emotional location in Poznań, Fort VII, which is an important place in the history of Poland. While the younger participants participated in a research with Piątka Poznańska to deepen their knowledge of the history of the region. During the Eucharist, presided over by Fr Bartłomiej Polański, Superior of the PLO Province, and the evening adoration led by the choir of Salesian students, the participants were able to pray together and experience the importance of Salesian values for young people. The sports competitions and a theatre festival in which school theatre groups took part were important moments to showcase the athletic and artistic and creative talents of the participants. The meeting of student governments allowed the exchange of experiences and ideas for the development of Salesian schools.
