Vilaboa, Spain – June 2024 - The Salesian School in Puertollano has been indicated by the Ministry of the Interior as one of the ten educational centres throughout Spain that has distinguished itself for the exemplary implementation of the "Plan Director". This recognition highlights the Centre's dedication and commitment to the safety and well-being of its educational community. The "Plan Director", coordinated with the National Police Force, has as its main objective the improvement of coexistence and safety in educational centres through various educational initiatives and programs. The work carried out by the Salesians in Puertollano was fundamental to fostering a safe and harmonious school environment, establishing a model to follow for other educational centres in the country. This recognition highlights the joint effort of the faculty, students and the community of the Colegio Salesianos Puertollano in promoting the values of coexistence and safety. "The school you run has been recognised as an example of commitment and involvement for the materialisation of the objectives of the Plan, whose essential purpose is to provide children with the necessary tools to prevent and identify risk situations that may jeopardise their safety", says the letter signed by Fernando Grande-Marlaska. The document, which arrived on 3 June in certified form to the Principal of the Salesian school, Sergio Oter, also makes special mention of the Principal, distinguished for his "involvement in an education in values and in a safe environment".
