Lawaan, Philippines – May 2024 – The Salesians of Don Bosco in the Province of the Southern Philippines (FIS) celebrated its 11th Provincial Chapter at the Don Bosco Retreat House in Lawaan from 19 to 25 May. The assembly, chaired by Fr Fidel Ma. D. Orendain, SDB, Superior of the FIS Province, brought together 30 participants, including members of the Provincial Council, Rectors, Provincial Delegates and local communities and observers. Following the theme of GC29, the Chapter focused on the study and reflection of its three core areas. The insights and priorities of the FIS Provincial Chapter will contribute to the broader debate on the future direction of the Salesian community in the world that will take place at the GC29 to be held in Turin in 2025.
