Italy – World Salesian Family Council concludes: Fraternity, Sharing and new insights for Animation and Accompaniment

24 May 2024

(ANS - Turin) - With the celebration of the Eucharist on 23 May, presided over by the Rector Major, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, the last working day of the World Council of the Salesian Family began. The participants shared the working draft of a new document drawn up by the Secretariat of the Salesian Family, entitled "Animation and Accompaniment in the Salesian Family". It is a document that offers useful indications both on how to live accompaniment according to the Salesian style, and on the organisms of animation and accompaniment of the various groups of our Family.

The participants were asked to offer the Rector Major - as has been the tradition in recent years - food for thought on the possible topic of the Strenna for 2025.

Various proposals also emerged regarding the organization of the Salesian Family Spirituality Days 2025, the next meeting of the World Council and the work of the Secretariat.

Unanimous was the positive assessment of the meeting - as emerged during the final review - which took place in an atmosphere of discussion and great fraternity.

Once the work of the Council was officially concluded, some of the Leaders and Delegates left Valdocco, while others stayed on to participate in the feast of Mary Help of Christians, under whose protection the entire meeting took place, in the certainty that, once again, we can convincingly affirm “She did it all”.
