Upon arrival at the institute he was warmly welcomed by the students. Here in Kurunegala, which is one of the major Cities of Sri Lanka, the Vice-Province is proud to have established its very first higher education center. The center provides civil engineering courses to boys and girls who are unable to pursue their dreams of becoming engineers due to the insufficient number of national universities.
The unaffordable expense of pursuing higher education in private colleges too is a factor that has made this institution a very welcomed venture of Salesians by the poor and needy but studious and determined students of our island nation. The institution is built on a land donated by the Bishop of Kurunegala and the project was funded by Foundazione Italcementi Cav. Lav. Carlo Pesenti- Italy. The institute provides the government recognized NVQ (National vocational qualification) standard courses.
Since the institution is qualified to issue NVQ levels 5&6 it is one among the few government recognized university colleges of Sri Lanka, ensuring job opportunities within the country and abroad.
