Italy – Conference of Salesian Institutions of Higher Education in Europe
Turin, Italy – April 2024 – On April 18 and 19, the heads and coordinators of the Salesian Institutions of Higher Education (IUS) in Europe met at the Salesian University Institute in Rebaudengo, Turin (IUSTO), attached to the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) in Rome, for the continental conference of IUS. The meeting was held with the aim of sharing the Policies and the Common Program emanating from the 7th World Assembly of IUS (Rome, 24-28 January 2022) in the situation in each continent. The participants, led by the continental coordinator, Prof. Alessio Rocchi, CEO of IUSTO, explored and reasoned in common terms about the activities and perspectives of European IUS with a focus on policies and action plans, questioning the challenges, strategic goals, and prospects for future development, including with a collaborative research project regarding the impact of Artificial Intelligence. During the two days, there was also time dedicated to the pastoral animators of the European IUS for a discussion on the common pastoral orientations of IUS. The next IUS continental conference will be held in Barcelona on 3 and 4 April 2025.
