India - Presentation of the book "Charism and Vision: Foundational Realities and Contemporary Challenges
Mumbai, India - February 2024 - On 8 February, during the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA, in English), the book "Charism and Vision: Founding Realities and Contemporary Challenges" was presented. The ceremony was presided over by Fr Biju Michael, Councillor for the South Asia Region, in the presence of many Salesians. The first copy of the book was donated to Fr Paul Olphindro Lyngkot, Provincial of Shillong, and other Provincials. The book is the fruit of the hard work of two Salesians, Fr Joseph Palamthattel and Fr Joseph Pulinthanath, of the Shillong Province, and presents its readers with a collection of the beautiful and inspiring articles presented at the South Asia Seminar on the evangelising mission at the heart of the Salesian charism. What is special about this text is that it is dedicated to all the Salesian missionaries of the past who worked hard and proved that mission is everything to them. The preface is by Archbishop Emeritus Thomas Menamparampil, SDB, and Fr Januarius Sangma, Provincial of Guwahati, and contains two messages at the end of the book: by Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major; and by Fr Alfred Maravilla, General Councillor for the Missions.
