India – Don Bosco Tech Centre education confirms its excellence in the career paths of young people
Rangajan, India – January 2024 – The second group of trainees from Don Bosco Tech Centre in Rangajan, comprising 25 young people from Manipur, Nagaland and Assam specialised in associate work in the catering service, completed their training on 19 January. Hailing from conflict zones such as Kangpokpi and Imphal, many of these participants have previously faced several challenges, such as homelessness, family loss, and the fight against substance abuse. Thanks to the skilful guidance of Salesian Brother Sunny Joseph, Director of the Centre, and a group of collaborators, these young people have found hope thanks to the initiative of free training. During the training program, which lasted two and a half months, students received theoretical and practical knowledge, basic computer skills and English. They also gained valuable industrial training experience at the Wild Dhansiri Borgos in Golaghat, which allowed them to get to know the hotel activities up close. A 19-day practical training at the Bonvilla Retreat and the Iora The Retreat Hotel in Kaziranga then further honed their skills. The success of the program was evident, as many of them secured excellent job positions.
