Brazil – Salesian Mission Projects in the South of the country leave their mark on the more than 2,000 families visited
Brazil – January 2024 – The young people and young adults who participated in the Missionary Projects of the Salesians of Southern Brazil made over two thousand visits to the cities of Missal and Ponta Grossa (Paraná State); and Pouso Redondo and São Joaquim (Santa Catarina State). The numbers give an idea of the pastoral activity in St Pius X Province Brazil-Porto Alegre (BPA), which took place simultaneously from 13 to 20 January on the four missionary fronts of its territory. In addition to the number of families visited, the projects encourage Salesians and lay people at the beginning of a new year and leave a significant contribution in the host parishes. In total, there were more than a hundred participants, including young people and adults involved in the Salesian presences. The Youth Missionary Project (PMJ), aimed at young people between the ages of 17 and 30, was carried out in the diocesan parishes of São Joaquim, Nossa Senhora de Fátima and Nossa Senhora da Conceição. The Adult Missionary Project (PMA) took place in Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora parish, entrusted to the Salesians.
