Gatčina, Russia - January 2024 - The Salesian Oratory in Gatchina, which has no building of its own, organised a winter youth camp in a facility rented for the occasion. From 3 to 7 January, 40 children and young people aged 8 to 14 took part in the winter camp, led by Fr Andrej Porubchin, SDB, and 10 leaders. The activities were all held indoors because the temperatures were too cold (up to 30 degrees below zero). The programme included dancing, singing, theatre activities, team games, group work, workshops and moral education meetings. On the last day, Christmas was celebrated according to the Julian calendar, during which children and animators received gifts.
