Seville, Spain – December 2023 – The Salesians of the Province of Mary Help of Christians, Spain (SMX) began their fourth Provincial Chapter on Wednesday 27 December. The meeting was opened by Fr Francisco Miranda, Superior of the Province of Mary Help of Christians, Spain (SMX). Addressing the almost one hundred participants, he recalled the importance of this event, "which allows us to reflect on and address issues related to life and the Salesian mission, taking into account the challenges and specific opportunities." Four topics were addressed in this first session: the animation and care of the life of every Salesian; "Salesians, Salesian Family and laity together, with and for young people; issues related to the process of provincial restructuring; evaluation and reshaping of the administration of the Congregation at all levels. The second session of the Chapter will be held in April in the Santo Domingo de los Dominicos House of Spirituality in Torrent (Valencia).
