Mexico - Fr Gabriel Romero concludes the Extraordinary Visitation to the Salesian Province of Guadalajara
Guadalajara, Mexico - December 2023 - The Extraordinary Visitation conducted by Fr Gabriel Romero, Councillor for the South Cone Region of America, to the Salesian Province of Mexico-Guadalajara (MEG) concluded on 1 December. Fr Romero first met the Provincial Council and then the Rectors and Salesians who were able to be present. In the various meetings, the vitality and richness of the Province was extolled and celebrated. For so many years it has been giving its life for the salvation of young people with so much creativity and initiatives. There was also reflection on the future challenges to live the consecrated life more radically and the mission among young people, especially the poorest, shared with so many generous and committed lay adults and young people. At the end of the day, in the chapel at the Anáhuac Chapalita school in the city of Guadalajara, the Eucharist was celebrated in the presence of Fr Filiberto González, MEG Provincial, and also concelebrated by Fr Pascual Chávez, Rector Major Emeritus, and Bishop Salvador Cleofás Murguía Villalobos, bishop of the Mixes-Oaxaca Prelature. Both are former MEG Provincials.
