Panjim, India - November 2023 - Great celebrations are expected on Sunday 3 December at the Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa, India, where the mortal remains of the great saint and Patron of the Missions, St Francis Xavier, are being received. In preparation for that date, the day of his liturgical memorial, a novena was planned, and on Sunday, 26 November, the second day of this journey, members of the Salesian Family animated the celebrations. Around 20 Salesian priests belonging to the Saint José Vaz Province of India-Panjim (INP) concelebrated the Eucharist, during which Fr Banzelao Teixeira, Vice-Provincial of INP, invited all the faithful to always remember Jesus' words from the Gospel of the day: "as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me", to give oneself to one's neighbour without reserve. The Mass, animated by Salesian Youth in INP, was also attended by Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Salesian Cooperators, members of the Association of Mary Help of Christians, Past Pupils and students from Salesian schools in Goa.
