Lubumbashi, D.R. Congo - November 2023 - At the weekend of 4 and 5 November 2023, the Jesus Adolescent Salesian community, the Cité des Jeunes in Lubumbashi, in collaboration with the Don Bosco Tech Africa organisation held two open-door days to show all visitors who came to the school the workshops and programmes at the school and the skills that its students manage to achieve at the institute. Thus, the different branches of the centre were presented: agriculture and animal husbandry, carpentry, automotive mechanics, general mechanics, welding and masonry. In addition, Fr Serge Mwaka, Rector of the community, praised the hard work of the pupils and their teachers, and explained: "At the Cité des Jeunes, we form young people in an integral way, because Salesian formation concerns the whole person. And at the end of the courses, each of our young people is able to find a good job in a particular profession." The two days were well attended, and among the various guests was the Superior of the Central African Province, Fr Guillermo Basañes, who encouraged everyone to continue to work with dedication to the integral formation of young people.
