Manaus, Brazil - November 2023 - The Salesian Family in Brazil is taking part in the 5th National Missionary Congress being held in the Archdiocese of Manaus from 10 to 15 November. More than 800 congress participants from all over Brazil and Latin America are exploring the theme "Go! From the local Church to the ends of the earth" and the motto: "Burning hearts, feet on the road!" The congress aims to reflect on the missionary process of the particular Churches in Brazil, but also revives the missionary energy that is part of the very nature of the Church called to be a missionary disciple of Jesus Christ. The event also precedes and prepares for the 6th American Missionary Congress, to be held in Puerto Rico in November 2024. The Salesians of Don Bosco and the other members of the Salesian Family present are involved in the Missionary Animation of the Salesian Provinces in Brazil or are engaged in different missionary realities.
