Évora, Portugal - October 2023 - The Permanent Council of the Portuguese Episcopal Conference (CEP) recently appointed Salesian Cooperator, Nuno Camelo, from the archdiocese of Évora, as director of the National Department of Youth Ministry (DNPJ in Portuguese). The layman had already been chosen by the Archbishop of Évora, Francisco Senra Coelho, as coordinator of the diocesan organising committee for WYD Lisbon 2023. The decision was announced after the board's monthly meeting in Fatima. Father Filipe Diniz, former director of the DNPJ, now assumes the role of department assistant. A geographer by training, Nuno Camelo is a Salesian Cooperator, works with the Salesian House in Évora, is a CNE scout and pastoral animator in the Youth Ministry Department of the Archdiocese of Évora.
