Calamba City, Philippines - September 2023 - On 23 September, on the day the Church commemorates St Pio of Pietrelcina, the Diocesan Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Calamba City was blessed by the special visit of the blood relic of St Padre Pio at the National Shrine of St Padre Pio in Santo Tomas, Batangas Province. The event, organised by the Don Bosco House of Formation for Aspirants and those in charge of the Shrine, brought together the faithful and devotees who had come to venerate the relic of one of the most beloved saints of the contemporary age. Fr Jake Lopez SDB celebrated the welcoming Mass, welcoming the many faithful who had arrived to express gratitude and ask for Padre Pio's intercession for healings and blessings.
