Among the issues addressed in the meeting were the initiatives carried out in each Province following the canonisation of Saint Artemides Zatti to appreciate this grace of God for the Salesian Congregation; the initiatives carried out in each Province to remember Don Bosco's dream when he was 9, a dream that will turn 200 in 2024, were also presented. Each Delegate also presented a Provincial Qualification Plan with reference to the preparation of new formators and presented how the provincial formation process is carried out and how the missionary mission of the Salesians is carried out in the face of the local circumstances of each Province.
Fr Guido Errico, member of the Rome Formation Sector team, attended the meeting. The formative part of the meeting was curated by Fr. Sérgio Ramos de Souza, of the Province of Porto Alegre, who spoke about the Missionary dimension, with the dialogue between the Formation and the Missions Sectors.
Salesian Brother Adrián Guerrero, from Uruguay, representing CRESCO, presented the functioning of the curatorium with the courses available in that Salesian formation house now based in the city of Guadalajara (MEG). The progress of formation carried out in Quito (ECU) was also presented, regarding Salesianity courses and the formation of new rectors. The meeting was also aimed at defining the 2024 calendar for the CRF (Regional Formation Commission) and CNF (National Formation Commission).
"There were moments of great sharing and exchange of experiences, including evaluating the document drafted during the Team Visit that took place earlier this year, which served for the reflections and resolutions of the meeting" said Fr Ademir de Oliveira, Vice-Provincial and Formation Delegate for the Province of Brazil-Campo Grande (BCG), and also Director of the curatorium for the postnovitiate in Campo Grande.
The meeting ended with the Holy Mass celebrated at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ca'acupé.
