Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic - September 2023 - The Salesian Cooperators (ASC) in the Dominican Republic organised a meeting of the ASC 2023 aspiring Salesian Cooperators at the Salesian Promotion and Formation Centre in Pinar Quemado, near Jarabacoa, involving 50 people in formation and about 40 members of the Association who made their promise. From 8 to 10 September, each participant in the meeting was able to verify his or her "Interest, Aptitude and Vocational Dedication" on the path that the Lord wants for each one. On the first day, participants explored "Vocational Interest", presented by José Ortega, ASC Provincial Coordinator, Antilles, with reflection on the call to be a Salesian Cooperator. On the second day, Fr José Cuello, SDB, Delegate for the National and Provincial Councils, presented "Aptitudes for being a Salesian Cooperator", where various aspects were highlighted to help throw light on the path and actions that Cooperators are called to take as Christians. Group dynamics workshops were held in the afternoon, where integration and teamwork were demonstrated as apostolic practices. On the final day, participants worked on "My vocational dedication" with a group of formators who presented their testimonies. The meeting ended with the Eucharist celebrated by Fr Ronny Stephan, SDB, Delegate of the OMA Local Centre, who invited those present to keep alive best practices such as fraternal correction in the style of Don Bosco or "the little word in the ear", and to remain in formation to increase the strength of faith, vocation and the Salesian charism.
