Puerto Ayacucho, Venezuela - September 2023 - The Salesians in the state of Amazonas opened the celebrations for the 90th anniversary of the Salesian Congregation's arrival in the territory with a Eucharist in the María Auxiliadora cathedral in Puerto Ayacucho on 4 September. Celebrations will continue throughout the week until 11 September, when the central event of the festival will take place. Bishop Jonny Eduardo Reyes, SDB, Apostolic Vicar of Puerto Ayacucho, expressed his gratitude for the growth that the Salesian charism has had in the region. "We hope that it will continue to flourish in the hearts of many people who are good Christians and upright citizens, serving our neighbours in the midst of difficulties."
