Chennai, India – 2 August 2023 – The meeting of the Formation Delegates of the South Asia Region, scheduled from 2 to 5 August at the Don Bosco Provincial House, The Citadel, Chennai, began with the inaugural Mass celebrated by Fr Don Bosco Lourdusamy, Superior of the Salesian Province of Chennai (INM). The meeting was attended by the Salesian Formation Delegates from 11 Salesian Provinces of India and the Vice-Province of Sri Lanka, all part of the South Asia Region, led by animators from the Formation Sector Team at Salesian Headquarters, composed of Fr Jose Kuttianimattathil and Salesian Brother Raymond Callo, with the presence of some special guests from the Region. The session began in the Bicentennial Hall with the opening ceremony to encourage the participants to savour the biblical experience of the cenacle, entering into the mode of working to analyse and carry forward the Salesian formation objectives and in particular Salesian Formation in Mission. Fr John Alexander, Vice-Provincial of the INM Province and the Delegate for Formation welcomed the participants to the meeting. The keynote address was delivered by Fr Jose Koyickal, Superior of the Salesian Province of Bangalore (INK) and Provincial Head of the South Asian Formation Commission.
