The formation meeting is part of the worldwide ongoing formation program for consecrated Salesians. Leading the work is Fr Silvio Roggia, who knows the text well because of the service he has carried out for the Congregation’s Formation Sector.
It is precisely Fr Roggia’s involvement in the meeting that promises to provide valuable ideas for reflection on the role of the Salesian Rector within the community and on the importance of the service that this figure carries out in his daily work. In addition, the exchange of experiences and knowledge during the official formation time enriches the work of the Salesian Rectors in their respective communities throughout the country.
“During the Covid-19 pandemic there was an online meeting, but now, with the resumption of normal activities, the event can finally take place in person. The intention of this meeting is to share the contents of the book with the participants in an enjoyable and attractive way for participants. The study of the material takes placee through lectures, dynamics, round tables with others...” explained the Executive Director of the Salesian Network Brazil (RSB), Fr Nivaldo Luiz Pessinatti.
And in addition to formation work based on this text, the meeting will also serve as an opportunity for discussion relevant to the Salesian community in Brazil, since it allows those who carry out the Salesian mission in the country to meet for a common discussion on issues of mutual interest.
Expectations for the event are high and it is expected that the meeting will bring positive results for education, evangelisation, social development and the Salesian Mission in Brazil, inspiring and empowering the Rectors for even more dedicated work on behalf of young people and the community.
The city of Aparecida do Norte, known for its religious importance and as a pilgrimage destination, is a significant setting for this event. The Basilica of Our Lady of Aparecida is considered the largest Marian Shrine in the world and every year welcomes millions of visitors from all over Brazil and from various countries of the world who come to thank Our Lady for the miracles she has performed.
