Costa Rica - Laudato Si' Beatitudes lifestyle in harmony with creation – Formation meeting for the Salesain Cooperators Interamerica Region

Costa Rica – July 2023 – The Salesian Cooperators from the Interamerica Region held their second regional formation meeting, "Laudato si' Beatitudes, a lifestyle" on Sunday, 16 July. It was a virtual meeting run by Sister Leslie Sándigo Ortega, FMA, the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians' Councillor for the Salesian Family. Juanita Silva, in charge of Regional formation, welcomed all participants. The world Councillor, Martín Calderón, addressed some words to those present, inviting them to sign the letter of commitment in relation to the care of the environment that the Association is promoting. Subsequently, Sister Sándigo presented the seven "Laudato Si 'Beatitudes", delving into each of them, relating them to the articles of the Project of Apostolic Life The aim of the meeting was to invite participants to adopt a lifestyle as part of the commitment to safeguard the Care of Creation. At the end of the presentation, Sister Aracely Mayorga, Regional Delegate, was invited to share her reflections on the presentation. Then Franklin Ortega, Regional Administrator, conducted a Q&A session. At the end of the meeting, information was given on the third regional formation meeting to be held in November, by the Association's Worldwide Coordinator, Antonio Boccia, also inviting people to use the logo created for the celebration of the 150th anniversary in all the Association's ommunications. More than 150 people participated in this event via Zoom, and others via Facebook, from the 13 countries that make up the region. In northern Mexico, local councils took advantage of the fact that they had an activity scheduled to attend along with the broadcast of the event, just as in Puerto Rico members from one of the local centres met to attend the meeting.
