Guayaquil, Ecuador –July 2023 - A Communication Animation Meeting took place on 21 July, at the Salesian Cristóbal Colón" (UES) Educational Unit in Guayaqui. Involving 24 young people and educators from different environments, the event focused on the theme of "Communicating with the heart", inspired by Pope Francis' message for this year's World Communications Day. The event began with a formation session led by Fr Raúl Conza, on the theme of "Good communicators in imitation of Jesus and Don Bosco". The aim of the meeting was to understand the vocation of the communicator as an identity trait of the Salesian charism. Participants reflected on the importance of seeing communication as an act of truth, love and transformation in today's world, beyond technical and communicative skills. One of the highlights of the event was a dynamic press conference in which the young people took on the role of communicators and learned about the impact of communication on the lives of invited personalities who have distinguished themselves through their vocation and work in this area. The meeting was supported by the San Juan Bosco Community Communication Team and was animated by Marco Padilla, a member of the Salesian Communication Office in the Province of Ecuador (ECU). The joy of being bearers of good news united young people and educators in the commitment to communicate with the heart, faithful to Don Bosco's mission in today's times.
