Ecuador – Meeting of Salesian Province of Ecuador's teams

21 July 2023

Quito, Ecuador – July 2023  - The Teams Meeting of the Salesian Province of Ecuador (ECU) was held at the San Patricio Spirituality Centre, on 19 July, animated and accompanied by the Provincial, Fr Marcelo Farfán. The aim of this conference was to share the 6 fundamental options of the Overall Provincial Plan (OPP), a document that charts the work that the Province will carry out in the coming years. At first, Fr Farfán gave a brief introduction to the journey undertaken to construct the OPP, where he referred to the contributions made by all the Salesians of the Province during his visits to the different communities in Ecuador. He then explained each of the fundamental options that had been worked on together in the Rectors Assembly, as well as in the Assembly of Salesians and Laity. Schemes were shared relating to the organisational structure of the Province and the programmatic structure, which details the documents that guide the path of the Province at all levels.  In the afternoon, group work was organised to reflect on the fundamental options involving each team, and to establish the persons responsible for each of the proposed interventions. The meeting was attended by the delegates for provincial animation services: Fr Juan Flores, Fr Luis Mosquera, Fr Mauricio Leime, Fr Francisco Sánchez, Fr Marcelo Coronel, Fr Diego Rodríguez and Tatiana Capelo. During the Eucharist, 11 young people handed in their letter of application for admission to the Salesian aspirantate, and the refurbished "Don Bosco 88chapel was blessed.
