Talisay City, Philippines – July 2023 – The Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) of the Philippines organised National Assembly Days 2023 from 28 June to 2 July. The event focused on 'Padayon', meaning to continue or pursue, with the aim of strengthening the significance of the SYM in relation to new challenges, to foster formation, celebrate the movement's roots in Christ, promote fellowship and plan for the next three years. The Days brought together 60 delegates from the two Salesian Provinces of the Philippines, North (FIN) and South (FIS), and the FMA Province (FIL). The event brought together SYM leaders, Salesians and Salesian sisters, all united in their commitment and passion for Salesian youth empowerment. Facilitating the planning process was Fr Fidel Ma. Orendain, SDB, Superior of the FIS Province, who guided the participants throughout the assembly days. As the Salesian Youth Movement of the Philippines moves forward, it remains steadfast in its dedication to the care of youth, guided by the values and teachings of St John Bosco.
