Tarnowskie Góry, Poland – June 2023 – The School for Salesian Leaders (SAS) and the Liturgical Ceremony Course were held from 24 to 29 June at the Salesian Educational Centre in Tarnowskie Góry in Wrocław Province (PLO). More than 250 young people from the different parts of Poland participated: Greater Poland, Lower Silesia and Upper Silesia. For five days, the participants took part in activities, workshops and thematic panels that helped them acquire skills in animating and leading groups of young people. The activities were divided into four levels, each one facing different challenges. The young leaders participated in sports, art, animation, integral development, psychological, biblical and liturgical courses, and a course for educators in the last level. There was also a course for master of ceremonies, where participants learned the basics of the master of ceremonies and had the opportunity to put them into practice. The special guest of the SAS and the course was Bishop Andrzej Iwanecki, Auxiliary Bishop of the Gliwice diocese. The time spent in Tarnowskie Góry was not just about activities and workshops. It was above all about spiritual and human formation. The organisers saw to this spiritual aspect through daily morning prayers, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, evening prayers and the Eucharist. The human aspect of the formation was realised through recreation and cheerful evenings which were also an opportunity to better integrate and meet new people. For many of them, the end of the SAS and the Course meant the beginning of summer activities and camps with children and young people organised by the various oratories.
