RMG – General Council’s two days of relaxation and fraternity

03 July 2023

(ANS – Cogne) - The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime and the General Council went to Valle d 'Aosta  in Cogne from 30 June to 2 July as guests of the Alpine Villaggio Alpino Don Bosco di Cogne. Located in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park, this house is run by the Salesians from the Piedmont and Valle d 'Aosta Special Circumscription (ICP), and offers school camps, retreats, meetings and vocational guidance opportunities, study courses, holidays for the clergy and formation meetings for the laity.

The Rector Major and the members of the General Council, immersed in this wonderful place, were able to spend these days of relaxation and fraternity amidst the work of the Council's summer session. They were also able to visit the Salesian house at Les Combes, in the municipality of Introd, where  two popes, Saint John Paul II and Benedict XVI, had stayed.

During their stay in Cogne they were able to meet a group of young people from the middle school at the Edoardo Agnelli Salesian house in Turin, with their leaders; during the visit to Les Combes they also met a group of young people from the Valsalice (Turin) middle school with their leaders. Two wonderful family-style meetings that were very much welcomed by everyone concerned.

A big thank you to Fr Leonardo Mancini, ICP Superior, and Fr Giorgio Degiorgi, ICP Economer, for this wonderful opportunity.
