Recife, Brazil - June 2023 - Under the chairmanship of Sr Adriana Gomes, FMA Provincial, and Fr Francisco Inácio, SDB Provincial, the Provincial Councils of the two North-Eastern provinces met on 20 June. The meeting began with Mass, with a special prayer intention for vocations, at the end of which presentations were made. On the occasion, Fr Inácio recalled that the last meeting of the two SDB and FMA Provincial Councils had taken place in 2019, before the pandemic, and also emphasised that the current meeting was not only for the coordination of common activities, but above all as an opportunity for fraternity, to reinforce the bonds that unite the two religious families in the mission. Salesian Brother Manoel Messias da Silva, Councillor, coordinated the reflection on the Year of Vocations and the Salesian Family (challenges, prospects and collaboration). Other topics on the agenda were: the visit of the Rector Major in 2024, on the occasion of the dedication of the church at Horto, in Juazeiro, the annual retreat, Vocational Animation and Youth Ministry.
