Chile – The Don Bosco school in Iquique establishes an environmental committee to design and implement activities to promote care of the environment

Iquique, Chile – June 2023 – The Don Bosco School in Iquique celebrated Environment Day with a week of various activities aimed at generating environmental awareness and promoting care of our Common Home. These activities began on 5 June with an awareness campaign aimed at all students through the dissemination of a series of videos focused on generating ecological awareness and reducing our carbon footprint. In addition, the Pope's documentary was shared, highlighting moving personal stories and the latest information on the environmental crisis and its impact on nature and society. The school's environmental committee was established on 6 June,. Its objective is to design and implement various activities that promote the care of the environment in the educational community. This day was chaired by the President Alejandra Carrera and the coordinator of the committee Gabriela Montenegro. The students involved in the environmental project met on the occasion of the Day of the Oceans on 8 June to clean up the beach at Huayquique, highlighting the importance of taking care of the seas and preserving their flora and fauna. These activities reflect the commitment of Don Bosco school in Iquique to promoting the care of the environment and our Common Home, educating the entire community in safeguarding the planet.
