BOSCOM is the regional media network that consists of delegates from the twelve provinces of the Salesian South Asia region along with the webmaster (SPCSA - Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia), editor of regional Don Bosco Bulletin and the chief editor of BIS (Bosco Information System) who are ex-officio members. The main agenda was to discuss and plan the VOICES project to be held in mid-July in New Delhi. The focus of the VOICES project is to listen to the unheard silent cries of Young People in the South Asia Region and respond to them as the Communication Sector, providing them with the platform, support and accompaniment they need. This program will be systematically held in all regions of the Salesian order in the coming months. Based on the proceedings, relevant lines of action will be drawn to leverage the power of media in favour of the youth.
The other discussion points were the promotion strategies and organisation logistics of the upcoming Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival 2023 (DBGYFF) to be held in October 2023. Fr. Harris, the festival Director elaborated on the importance of this unique global event undertaken by the Salesian Order to provide a global stage to showcase the creative talents of the youth coming from the Salesian institutions the world over.
This occasion was also used to thank the four outgoing members of BOSCOM from Dimapur, Guwahati, Bangalore and Trichy provinces. A warm welcome was also extended to the successors from the above-mentioned provinces.
