The Open Doors World Watch List 2023 had in fact highlighted that more than 360 million Christians experience high levels of persecution and discrimination because of their faith.
Looking at the period between 1 October 2021 and 30 September 2022, it is estimated that:
2,110 churches or buildings related to them were attacked or closed;
4,542 Christians arrested without trial;
5,259 Christians kidnapped.
Acts of discrimination against Christians are on the rise even in countries where they are not a minority.
