Central and North Europe – The future of the media in unity

21 March 2023

(ANS) – The Provincial delegates for Social Communication of the Central and North Europe Region met online on March 16 to continue coordinating their work and their mission. Fr. Marcin Wosiek, the coordinator for this region, together with Fr Maciej Makula, a member of the general social communication sector, chaired the meeting. Each delegate had the opportunity to share the work being done within their respective province, together with some difficulties. Different ideas on how to work more together followed, with a discussion on a possible meeting later this year.

Each region of the Salesian Congregation operates on the basis of the Communication Sector Planning 2020-2026 approved by the General Council. The planning includes the processes and lines of action relevant to the general vision of the Salesian Congregation in the field of social communication.

This region, as well as the other regions of the Salesian Congregation, seeks to work according to the lines drawn by the Rector Major, in line with Pope Francis' Global Educational Pact, and according to the five points relating to the guidelines of the Communication Sector: evangelical, synodal, Salesian, convergent and artistic communication.

At the end of the meeting, information regarding the Internation Conference on Communication was given and shared. This is going to be held in August 2024 in Rome around these themes:

- Internal and external communication in the Church and in the Salesian Congregation

- Building the future with migrants and refugees

- The digital environment

- The communication of the encounter.
