Chile - Ongoing Formation: spaces that nourish us and help us as a family

16 March 2023

Santiago, Chile - March 2023 - The Youth Ministry Team of the Salesian Province of Chile (CIL) organized the first theological-pastoral ongoing formation meeting of the "School that Educates" Program on March 14. The online formation session was presided over by Fr. Carlo Lira, CIL Provincial, who led the in-depth study and reflection on the Rector Major's Strenna 2023: "AS THE YEAST IN TODAY'S HUMAN FAMILY. The Lay Dimension of the Family of Don Bosco." After a brief prayer Fr. Lira said, "We must continue to grow as disciples to carry out the mission the Lord has entrusted to us. These spaces nourish us and help us." Then he continued: "This year in particular the Rector Major wanted to address young people, who are part of this great family, and those who have a lay vocation, because this image of the leaven in the midst of the dough speaks precisely of this lay dimension of our lives." He also added that: "It is the laity, because of their vocation, who have the task of transforming this world into the kingdom of God, through the things they do every day at home, at work or in the neighborhood." The meeting concluded with questions from people connected live from all over the country, which were promptly answered by Fr. Lira.
