Ennerdale, South Africa - March 2023 – On 5 March, on behalf of the Rector Major and as part of the Extraordinary Visit to the Southern Africa Vice-Province (AFM), Fr. Alphonse Owoudou, Councilor for the Africa-Madagascar Region, met with the Educational-Pastoral Community and the Local Council of the Salesian Family of All Saints Church in Ennerdale. Fr. Owoudou met with the Salesians (SDB), members of the Parish Pastoral Council, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), Salesian Cooperators (SSCC), and Salesian Youth Ministry workers. There are currently twenty-seven SSCCs and five members of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM), including those from the parishes of Finetown and Lawley, who recently renewed their vows. Two SSCC members also moved to the Northern Cape Province and with the help of the FMA started a Life Skills Centre and an elderly care facility in Gong Gong. The "Don Bosco Educational Centre" in Ennerdale and the "Sancta Maria Early Childhood Development School" in Finetown are two institutions that share the Salesian charism in daily life and take great care of today's youth.
