The keynote speaker, Jordi San Ildefonso, CEO of the company "Metricool," analyzed the new digital trends and the challenges and opportunities they offer. He encouraged participants to continue to improve the social networks of Salesian presences; to use podcasts, the tool that will change formation; to make short videos in the various social networks; and to work on authenticity to create emotional connections and generate trust. All with a look to Artificial Intelligence.
The meeting served to reflect on how to integrate and adapt these trends into daily communication work; and to have the opportunity to start working on a formal communication education proposal for schools, taking advantage of the possibility offered by the new education law. In short, to continue to open avenues for communication.
In the words of Fr. Valiente: "Communication for us Salesians is about narrating our lives, who we are, what we do, and to build bridges and establish relationships using all possible channels with our environment. As an institution, at the Provincial or local level, it helps us to establish a relationship with our public, with the Salesian Family, educators, workers, families, other entities, public administration, and society in general."
"In this direction," continues the National Delegate for Social Communication of Salesian Spain, "another challenge is to influence public opinion, to convey our vision, our being Salesians and Church, to help build a world according to the logic of the Gospel. And, following Don Bosco's example, communication also helps us to put the lives of young people at the center, to give them a voice and to mobilize us to work on behalf of young people, especially those most in need."
The 10th National Day of Social Communication, to be held in 2024, already promises to be the culmination of ten years of Salesian investment in communication and to give impetus to Salesian presences to continue investing in communication.
