Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo - March 2023 - Yesterday, March 2, 15 Salesian school and vocational center leaders from the East Delegation of the "Central Africa" Province (AFC-EST), including 9 Don Bosco Salesians, actively participated in the first day of capacity building on the pedagogy of Don Bosco. The event was held at the "Bosconia-ITIG" work in Goma, under the theme: "Pedagogical skills inspired by Don Bosco." Leading the day was Fr. Jonas Madich Yav, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry. During his talk, Fr. Yav reminded those present of the importance of working in a Salesian school, as this means sharing space with young people, having pedagogical inspiration, and participating in true teamwork that is based on the Preventive System. Then, in the end, he asked them what should be done for young people to be good Christians and honest citizens in an ever-changing world. Based on this question, Fr. Yav invited participants to get to know young people more deeply in order to bring about successful educational action. Today, March 3, is the closing session of the event, which has already been very well received by all present.
