Fatumaca, East Timor - December 2022 - Toward the end of the year, the Salesians of the East Timor VP (TLS) gathered in Fatumaca for the annual evaluation meeting of the Vice-Province's work, a Christmas celebration and an activity in favor of the environment. On Dec. 29, Fr. Anacleto Pires, TLS Superior, with his Council, with the Rector and community leader, and those in charge of the TLS VP commissions gathered, under the leadership of Amilcar Silva, SDB, for a review of the year’s overall work. Each sector and Delegate presented their activities and after each presentation, there was a time of interaction of interventions and clarifications with questions and answers. Then Fr. Pires gave his final remarks at each presentation. On December 30, all the Salesians of the TLS VP gathered to celebrate Christmas and the 50th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Fr. Rolando Fernandez. After Mass, the Salesians also kicked off tree planting, play, and art activities. The day ended with a closing speech by Fr. Pires, who stressed that the spirit of synergy and teamwork is irreplaceable for the smooth functioning of any Salesian community to fulfill God's will and the mission entrusted. In addition, he urged all participants to increase their spiritual life and pastoral zeal, spread transparency, and strengthen their ecclesial sense.
